Michael Campbell

Michael is co-founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of MachineShop, a company he created after seeing the shortcomings of traditional enterprise software platforms, particularly in the IoT or M2M markets. He has long been an admirer of middleware technology and is driven to provide newer, simpler ways to build and integrate applications and systems in a hyper-connected world. Previously Michael served as interim CEO at Document Capture Technologies (DCT) and remains on their Board of Directors. Under Campbell’s leadership, DCT accelerated their transition from a manufacturer of personal scanners to becoming a provider of cloud-based content management services. From 2009-2011, he was President, Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of SensorLogic, a venture-backed platform company focused on enabling more efficient development and management of M2M applications. SensorLogic was acquired in 2011 by Gemalto NV (FR:GTO). From 2007 until 2009 Campbell was Senior Vice President, Corporate Development for InnerWireless, which was acquired by Black Box (NASDAQ: BBOX). At various times while at InnerWireless he was responsible for corporate development, strategic partnerships, marketing, product management and international business. Initially he was also General Manager of their Location Based Services business, which was created through the acquisition of his prior company, PanGo Networks. From 2002 until 2007 Campbell served in several roles at PanGo Networks including Executive Vice President, President, CEO and a member of the Board of Directors. PanGo was a venture-backed pioneer in the location-based services (LBS) market.
Campbell received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Political Science from Gannon University and did graduate work in International Policy and Security Studies at the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs.
